The idea of a bakery café selling sandwiches, salads and freshly baked breads and pastries is really nothing new. In 1979, Michael and Lou Bregman opened the first Michel’s Baguette at the Toronto Eaton Centre. What made this café different was the premium quality and great selection of pastries, sandwiches and salads. Not only could you smell the pastries but you could see them being baked through out the day…not just in the morning! In 1994, michel’s baguette was sold to Richmont Corporation, which was the holding company for Mary Kay Cosmetics out of Dallas, Texas. It wasn’t until December 2001, that the company was sold again, but this time to Timothy’s World Coffee. Becky McKinnon, Executive Chairman, of Timothy's World Coffee knew that what a winning combination she has and can boast that we sell not only the freshest coffee, but sell the freshest baked products, salads and sandwiches.
Today the menu has expanded with a greater selection of freshly baked breads and pastries, more French inspired gourmet sandwiches and salads, as well as hot and cold specialty beverages. Even with the expanded menu, we still have held on to our core value of FRESHNESS, as we still continue to bake throughout the day.
With over 12 stores throughout Ontario, you will be sure to enjoy your experience at Michel’s Baguette.
